Brotato Primal Dread Weapons: What We Know So Far
Primal Dread adds 17 new weapons per Steam. Evil Empire has not published a full official name list yet—here is how to find them in-game.
How many new weapons does Primal Dread add?
Evil Empire and Blobfish list 17 New weapons on the Primal Dread Steam page and repeat the count in the 2 November 2026 launch long post.
Those weapons sit alongside 40 new items on the store bullet, three new pets in the launch essay, and the Evolution stat (Evolution guide for Mecha vs Mutation rules). The launch essay’s “New weapons, items and Pets” section says “more than 30 new items” while the store headline says 40—we keep the store count as the headline figure and treat the essay line as broader wording, not a second inventory total.
There is no developer-published table of all seventeen names, tiers, tags, or DPS values in the posts we checked on 2026-11-04.

What has Evil Empire said about new gear?
From the launch long post’s “New weapons, items and Pets” section:
- 17 weapons, more than 30 items (essay wording), 3 pets.
- Fossil items: each Fossil is unique, effects strengthen for every other Fossil you hold, and wearing them all gives a museum-like cosmetic look.
- Hidden references in gear, but no weapon names in that paragraph.
Update 1.2.0.0 changed base-game weapon behavior (not the seventeen DLC guns): Revolver, Combat Shotgun, Chain Gun, Chainsaw, and Grenade Launcher long reload continues shrinking with Attack Speed after base cooldown minima; weapons draw on top of other entities globally (Update 1.2 notes).
Patch 1.2.0.1 fixes mechanized weapons UI in co-op shops—see Mecha Evolution for how Mecha gear works, without implying specific Jungle weapon names (hotfix notes).

Where can you see weapon names in-game?
After Update 1.2, the in-game Codex lists weapons (DLC entries appear when the Primal Dread Item Set is enabled); verify in your build.
- Install Update 1.2 and own Primal Dread.
- On Character Selection, enable the Primal Dread Item Set (Item Set guide).
- Open Codex → Weapon Description, or pick up a weapon during a run and reopen its entry.
Item Set and Evolution (pointers)
Turning off the Primal Dread Item Set should remove that DLC’s content—including its seventeen weapons—from the run pool; check the exact label in your menu.
Mecha parts, mutagens, and shop dismantling tie weapons to Evolution; full rules live on the Evolution and Mecha vs Mutation guides rather than duplicated here.
For pacing while hunting drops, use the Jungle map guide and Veteran page when you know which tags a run needs.

What we still do not know
- Full list of 17 weapon names in official prose.
- Base damage, scaling tags, tier, and unlock sources per weapon.
- Which weapons are Jungle-only or tied to Mecha drops.
- Console weapon availability timing—see console release.
